The Optimist Club of Sydenham and District will be holding a membership growth meeting on June 7th. We had prviously announced this would be on May 31 but due to a commitment by our President Bob, we have had to reschedule.

It is important that our club brings in new members so that we can have sufficient numbers to allow us to expand our service to youth. It would be nice to be able to lessen  the load on existing members at the functions we presently hold.

Each club member will play a role in this event. This most important role is to provide us with the name of at least one prospective member that we can send a special invitation to join us on June 7th to find our about our club and OI.

We are looking to have a list of about 40 – 50 people to send invitations to so you can see how important your input is. Think of family, friends, co-workers and others in the community who you think would benefit from membership in our club and who would benefit our club by being members.

I would appreciate you calling me with your prospective names as soon as possible and no later then April 22nd.

We have not finalized the venue for the meeting but it will be a luncheon meeting running from 11 am to 2 pm on June 7 so mark this down on your calendar. Our District Governor, Bob McFadyen has been invited and has expressed interest in attending if he can clear his decks.
