This District publishes a newsletter on a regular basics.

Club Newsletter Competition.

Club newsletters sent to the District Newsletter Chair will be eligible to receive the THE NORTHSIDE TROPHIES AND AWARDS TROPHY .

Newsletters will be judged based on the following criteria.

FRONT PAGE

• Masthead consistent monthly and includes Club Name
• Date of Newsletter
• Optimist Logo and/or Club Logo or District Logo
• President’s Name
• Secretary’s Name

ADDITIONAL PAGE/S

• Club Committee Reports i.e. Publicity Report; Program & Fellowship Report; Youth Activities Report
• International President’s Logo and/or International Info
• District Information
• Zone Information
• Interclub Information
• Club Information

CONTENT

• No spelling errors
• Easy to read
• Good use of white space
• Graphics i.e. Clip Art, Photos, News clippings, etc.
• Use of Optimist Logos throughout bulletin/newsletter
• Overall Appearance
• Coming Events – is the information well ahead of the event
• Humour in good taste
• Recognition of Club members i.e. special dates and/or occasions
• Optimist Creed
• Club Executive /Committees

Because a number of clubs do not put out a newsletter/bulletin in July and August, these two months will not be judged. A random picking of three monthly bulletins for each club that has submitted a newsletter/bulletin will be choosen for judging (excluding July & August). Please be sure to include your Club name in the Subject line of your emailed newsletter/bulletin.
